1Provider and terms

You buy the eSIM from AeroSims. The mobile service in Japan is provided by ROKKODE INC. of Kobe, Japan, on the KDDI network.

ROKKODE’s terms apply to this service as soon as you start using the eSIM. You do not need an account. The Japanese version is binding.

The mobile service is governed by Japanese law. Any protection you have under mandatory laws that apply to you remains in place.

2What is included

• Included: unlimited mobile data on your phone with a fair-use policy, a Japanese IP address, and hotspot up to a total amount.
• Not included: calls, SMS, emergency calls on this eSIM, number porting and use outside Japan.
• Your home SIM can stay on for calls and texts.
• Speed and signal depend on location, time of day, network load, buildings and your phone, and are not guaranteed.
• This eSIM is for travelers from abroad who are in Japan temporarily.

3Days and start date

Day 1 is the day of your first data connection in Japan (Japan time). Your last day ends at 23:59 Japan time.

Example: 7 days, first data connection on Monday at 22:00. Monday is day 1, and your eSIM runs until Sunday at 23:59.

You can install it before your trip. Installing does not start your days.

Every eSIM has a latest start date, at least 120 days after your purchase. Your days start on that date at the latest, even if you have not used the eSIM. The date is in your email and on your My eSIM page.

This eSIM cannot be extended or topped up, so choose all the days of your trip at once.

4Fair use and hotspot

On your phone, data is unlimited. A fair-use policy applies, based on your usage over the last 3 days: if it goes above certain amounts, use is otherwise excessive, or misuse is suspected, speed may drop to about 1 Mbps. The exact amounts are not published.

5G is available where your phone, the frequency band and the network allow it. Otherwise your phone may connect over 4G LTE.

Hotspot is included, with one total amount for your whole plan. After that, only hotspot speed may drop to 128 kbps.

For any other number of days up to 21: 1 GB less than the number of days.

5Your phone

• Your phone must support eSIM, be SIM-unlocked and support LTE Band 18 or Band 26. If it supports neither of these two bands, it is not suitable, even if it supports other bands.
• It must be allowed for use in Japan: with the Japanese conformity mark (Giteki) or under the legal exception for devices brought into Japan.
• Models with the same name differ by country and model number, so check your exact model, not just its name.
• Our device list shows whether your model supports eSIM. Whether it supports Band 18 or 26 is listed in its technical specifications. Is my phone eSIM-ready?
• Designed for phones and tablets. Routers and computers are not guaranteed to work.
• Depending on your phone, you may need to enter settings such as the APN by hand; your My eSIM page shows the steps.

6Install once, and replacements

The eSIM can be installed only once and cannot be moved to another phone. Install it on the phone you will travel with.

Never delete it, not even if something goes wrong: a deleted eSIM cannot be installed again, and the problem often can no longer be investigated.

If ROKKODE or KDDI confirm after checking that the service was completely down for at least 24 hours in a row, or that your eSIM was written to your phone with an error, you get a replacement eSIM through us. This applies to problems up to the end of your plan.

There is no free replacement if:

• your phone does not meet the requirements above or is faulty
• settings such as the APN are missing or wrong
• the eSIM was deleted, reinstalled or moved to another phone
• the wrong option was chosen at purchase
