Traveller's guide
Staying connected in Skopje
A weak connection does not just feel slow: it wastes your plan. Pages half-load and reload, uploads restart, apps retry in the background. Sitting on a solid network is part of what makes a fixed plan last the whole trip.
In Skopje the biggest single draw is the drive to Ohrid and the border crossings, which come thick and fast in this region. Download the offline map before you fly and let the eSIM handle live traffic only.
North Macedonia is not in the EU and the borders with Greece, Kosovo and Albania are all within a couple of hours. Every crossing is a different network.

How it works
Connected in 3 simple steps
1
Whenever you like
Scan the QR code at home over Wi-Fi. Nothing is used up.
2
On landing at SKP
Turn off flight mode.
3
Turn on data roaming
The step most people forget. Your home SIM stays in the phone for bank codes, with its data switched off.
FAQ
Questions, answered
Will the Skopje eSIM work on my phone?
Any eSIM-capable, carrier-unlocked handset: iPhone XS and newer, Samsung Galaxy S20 and newer, Pixel 3 and newer. Dial *#06#; an EID number means yes.
How fast is the data in Skopje?
4G and 5G where the local network provides it. Speed varies by area and time of day, as it does for everyone on the same network.
Do I need a passport or registration?
No. That requirement applies to physical SIM cards bought locally, not to this eSIM.
When does my plan start?
On the first connection to a local network, when you switch off flight mode at SKP. Not when you pay.
What happens when my data runs out?
Your connection simply pauses. No surprise bills, ever. While your eSIM is still valid, you can usually add more data to it on your personal eSIM page. You can also buy another package for the same destination. If that happens often, the unlimited plan is the cheaper answer.
Can I add data to an eSIM I already have?
Often, yes. While your package is running, your personal eSIM page shows whether more data can be added to it and lets you choose how much. The link is in your delivery email. If your package can't take more, another package for the same destination arrives by email in seconds and installs alongside the eSIM you already have.
Can I keep my normal number for calls and texts?
Yes. Keep the home line active for SMS codes with its data off, and let the eSIM carry the data.
Can I use it as a mobile hotspot in Skopje?
Yes. Bear in mind a second device draws from the same plan.
Does it work outside Skopje?
Yes, it is a North Macedonia-wide plan.
Staying longer than a week?
Unlimited is billed per day and the daily rate falls the longer you stay. Same networks, no counting.
