There is a fair use policy, as with every unlimited plan on the market. We publish the details on our fair use page rather than bury them, so you can check before you buy.
When does my Ella eSIM activate?+
On its first connection to a local network — in practice when you switch off flight mode at CMB. Not when you pay.
Can I buy it weeks before the trip?+
Yes. It stays dormant until it first connects, so buying it together with the flight is fine.
Should I buy a SIM card at the airport instead?+
You can, but it means queueing after a flight and paying whatever the counter asks. An eSIM bought beforehand is already working before you reach passport control.
Which devices are compatible?+
Any eSIM-capable handset — iPhone XS and newer, recent Samsung Galaxy, Pixel 3 and newer. Dial *#06# — if an EID number appears, you are good to go.
Can I extend it if I stay longer?+
