FAQ
Questions, answered
Will the Mauritius eSIM work on my phone?
Yes, as long as your phone supports eSIM and is carrier-unlocked. That covers iPhone XS and newer, Samsung Galaxy S20 and newer, Google Pixel 3 and newer, and most modern Android phones. Dial *#06# to check for an EID number.
How fast is the data in Mauritius?
Your eSIM connects to our local partner network at 4G/5G speeds, fast enough for maps, video calls, streaming, social media and mobile hotspot.
Do I need a passport or registration?
No. There's no ID check, no paperwork and no SIM registration. You buy online, receive a QR code by email, and install it yourself in under two minutes.
When does my plan start?
Validity begins the moment your eSIM first connects to a network in Mauritius, not at purchase. You can install it days ahead of your trip with zero waste.
Can I add data to an eSIM I already have?
Often, yes. While your package is running, your personal eSIM page shows whether more data can be added to it and lets you choose how much. The link is in your delivery email. If your package can't take more, another package for the same destination arrives by email in seconds and installs alongside the eSIM you already have.
Can I keep my normal number for calls and texts?
Yes. The eSIM runs alongside your physical SIM, so your home number stays active for calls and bank codes while the eSIM handles data in Mauritius.
What happens when my data runs out?
Your connection simply pauses. No surprise bills, ever. While your eSIM is still valid, you can usually add more data to it on your personal eSIM page. You can also buy another package for the same destination.
Can I use it as a mobile hotspot?
Tethering is enabled on our plans and we don't add a hotspot limit of our own. Shared data counts like your own use. Whether your device and the local network allow it is up to them, so we can't guarantee it.
Need unlimited data?
Skip the data cap. Our Unlimited plan gives endless data for a fixed daily price.
