Saint-Martin is the smallest inhabited landmass in the world divided between two nations, and the border is not marked, fenced or checked. You will cross it several times a day without noticing. Your phone will notice — which is the single most important thing to understand before buying an eSIM for this island.

The northern half of the island is Saint-Martin, a French territory and part of the EU. The southern half is Sint Maarten, a constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and not part of the EU. They run on different networks.
This plan is the French side. Princess Juliana airport, where almost everyone lands, is on the Dutch side — as are Philipsburg, Maho Beach and most of the cruise infrastructure. We do not currently sell a Sint Maarten plan. So: buy this if you are staying in Grand-Case, Marigot or Orient Bay and spending your time in the north. If your trip is Dutch-side or split evenly, this plan will spend half your holiday with no service, and we would rather you knew that now.

Saint-Martin Unlimited is cheap by Caribbean standards: $3.98 for one day, $26.18 for a week (about $3.74 a day) or $87.86 for 30 days — $2.93 a day. As with Martinique and Guadeloupe, the reason is that this is a French network.
The fair-use number, stated openly
Saint-Martin Unlimited allows 5 GB per day at full speed, then continues at 512 Kbps until the next day resets. Five gigabytes is a heavy travel day — maps, messaging, social media and a few videos rarely come close. At the reduced speed maps, messaging, tickets and email still work; HD video does not.
If you live in the EU
Saint-Martin is a French overseas collectivity. EU roaming treatment for the overseas collectivities is not identical to that of the outermost regions like Martinique and Guadeloupe, and it varies by operator — so check your own tariff for Saint-Martin specifically rather than assuming it behaves like mainland France. This is one of the few places where we cannot give you a clean yes or no.
Which network you connect to
The Saint-Martin eSIM roams on Orange (5G) — a single network on the French half. Coverage is good across Marigot, Grand-Case, Orient Bay, Cul-de-Sac and the road along the northern coast, and it reaches the ferry point for Anguilla and the boats to Pinel Island.
It thins out on the hills above Colombier and around Pic Paradis, and — the important one — it ends when you cross into the Dutch side, which happens on the road between Marigot and Philipsburg without any sign that you have done it.
The honest caveat: your internet exits in France or the Netherlands
Like most travel eSIMs, this one is home-routed. Your phone attaches to a mast in Saint-Martin, but your traffic reaches the public internet through a gateway in France or the Netherlands. Websites see a European address — which here is less strange than usual, since Saint-Martin is legally part of the EU anyway. Anything geo-locked to French services may still object. Latency is a little higher; maps, messaging, browsing and video calls are unaffected.
Getting online, step by step
1. Buy the plan; the QR code arrives by email within about a minute.
2. Scan it at home on Wi-Fi: Settings → Cellular/Mobile → Add eSIM.
3. Label it “Saint-Martin”, switch it off, and fly.
4. On landing at Princess Juliana (Dutch side) or Grand-Case, turn the Saint-Martin line on with data roaming enabled for that line only.
5. Keep your home SIM on for calls and SMS codes, with its own data switched off.
Note the consequence of that first line: if you land at Princess Juliana, your plan will not work until you have crossed to the French side. Plan the transfer with offline maps or the hotel’s shuttle rather than expecting to book a taxi on arrival.
Your QR code stays valid for 180 days before you install it, and the plan clock only starts when the eSIM first connects to a network in the destination country — not when you pay.

Does this plan work in Sint Maarten, the Dutch side?
No. The two halves run on different networks and this plan covers the French side only. We do not currently sell a Dutch-side plan.

Not at the airport — it is on the Dutch side. It will start working once you cross into the French half, which is a short drive north.
