Where the coverage is — and where it stops
The French Guiana eSIM roams on Orange (5G), a single network and the incumbent. Coverage follows the RN1 and RN2, the coastal road that carries essentially the entire population: Cayenne, Rémire-Montjoly, Kourou, Sinnamary, Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni and Roura are all comfortably served, and the Guiana Space Centre at Kourou has excellent coverage for obvious reasons.

The Îles du Salut, including Devil's Island, catch coastal signal from Kourou at the near end and lose it around the far side.
If you are going upriver

Guides and river operators work with satellite messengers and prearranged schedules, not phones. Download everything before Saint-Laurent, agree your return plan in person, and treat the phone as a camera.
